Summary
Provide temporary homes, care, and socialization before our cats get permanently adopted.Detailed description
Socialization is essential to give our cats a better chance at being adopted, which is why we prefer them to grow up in loving home surroundings. For this we need cat foster families to take them in. The period can vary from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. We take care of the costs like supplies, food and veterinary care. Occasional transport (to veterinarian, airport) is necessary, and cats need to be kept inside.
What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costsAbout Nine Lives Aruba Foundation
Nine Lives Aruba Foundation is the only animal welfare foundation in Aruba that focuses exclusively on the welfare of our Aruban cats. At our shelter we take care of and try to find homes for a varying number of cats, which can be anywhere between 30 to 100, although we officially have a maximum capacity of 70. We also provide a group of about 80 community cats with daily food and water. We provide assistance whenever possible with spaying/neutering efforts and TNR (trap, neuter, return) campaigns. We provide information and education on the welfare and health of cats and the importance of good loving pet care.
