About Orthopedagogisch Centrum

Mission: The OC forms a professional link within the chain of youth care in Aruba. It offers residential treatment and guidance in a methodical manner to young people with psychosocial problems, so that they learn the necessary skills in various developmental areas in the shortest possible time. The ultimate goal is that the young people are able to function independently within the family and/or society upon their departure.

Vision:
The OC strives to offer tailor-made care: the OC focuses on the young people.
The OC's starting point is that all young people, despite their psychosocial problems, have the right and the potential to develop further and increase their competencies. The emphasis is on strengthening protective factors and reducing risk factors with regard to the social-emotional development of the young person.
The OC works 'outreach' where possible.
The OC works system-oriented to maintain and improve family relationships.
